Colour and Weave Towels

Rigid heddle loom class

In this class we use a rigid heddle loom, the colour and weave technique and 8/4 cotton to weave some attractive and very functional towels.

Suitable for adventurous beginners to intermediate level rigid heddle weavers

What you will need to complete this class and project:

* Rigid heddle loom 20” or wider weaving width (this is adjustable though) * 12.5 dent heddle (a 10 dent may also be used)

* Stick shuttle wider than project or boat shuttle x 2

* Threading/reed hook

* Miscellaneous supplies like scissors, measuring tape etc

* I use a sewing machine and serger to hem the towels, though other hemming/finishing methods are possible

Yarns

I used Maurice Brassard 8/4 cotton to complete my towels

 

We warp for 3 towels with variations on the weft colour sequence for each towel.

More colour variations are also suggested in the Essential Information PDF for those who would like to explore even more weaving options.
